I'm picking up a bobcat 225 and am looking for ideas of how I can easily load it off and onto my truck. I dont have a dedicated welding vehicle so I dont always want the welder on my truck. Pics and input are welcome.93 Bobcat 225GMillerMatic 135HF Tig 91811
Reply:Have you given any thought to mounting it on a small utility trailer? Just hitch it up when you need to go somewhere with it. Here's mine. Attached ImagesLast edited by Bistineau; 02-18-2014 at 12:35 PM.
Reply:I keep mine on a skid and use my loader forks on my tractor. At my buddy's house we use a chain fall with a pad eye welded to the header beam.I hate being bi-polar it's awsomeMy Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys
Reply:Get a HF 2 ton engine hoist. $150.00 bucks and you have another toy too. You could do what I did, made a cart for it to keep in garage and a  trailer that holds Trailblazer with cart. Here's the posting, http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php...rt-and-TRAILER
Reply:This is my skid. The deck is 3" channel with 3/8" plate.  I made it 4' square. Dan Attached Images
Reply:I have a Bobcat 250 EFI. Sweet sweet machine. It gets used in Alaska on mountain tops and nasty places. Base is c channel with 3/4" axles and these wheels / tires:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1Welder is heavy enough and tires are soft enough that the tires don't let it vibrate around on its own. But they do allow it to be pushed or dragged by hand with some effort. And they have it plenty of room underneath to grab with a forks. The lifting hook on top is damn good. That is primarily what we use. Helicopters, telehandlers, wheel loader, anything and rig on top.My company also makes a crane mount for the top of shipping containers. I use that crane sometimes to unload from the pickup truck and swing it into the container for storage. Don't have a picture of that, but I do have a picture of a poorly rigged job box on that crane. Job box weighs about the same.Oh yeah, here are some photos of the crane mount:http://www.aprsworld.com/gallery/containerCornerCranehttp://www.aprsworld.com/container/crane/Last edited by kb0thn; 02-19-2014 at 12:14 PM.Reason: line break between images ... hopefully

Reply:@ Anthony83 - planning to adopt 'weldermike's concept for a TrailerBlazer 301.  Build a roll-around skid and lift into the truck, as required.  Space limitations in shop/area precludes a stand-alone (mini) trailer.  In lieu on using a heavy header beam for the lift point, fabricating a 1-Ton mobile (A-frame style) crane based on a Wallace Crane design.  Perfect steel project for SMAW 7018 work."Discovery is to see what everybody else has seen, and to think what nobody else has thought" - Albert Szent-Gyorgyi
