Just ordered a Thermal Arc 186. It requires a 50 amp breaker. I have a Hobart 210 MPV that I have been running on 110. If I install a 50 amp outlet can I make an adapter to work off of the 50 amp out let to plug in the 30 amp plug from my Hobart? What is a easy cheap work around for this problem. If anyone has good or bad to say about the TA 186 I would like to hear your take on this unit. Thanks for the help. Dennis

Reply:The Hobart should use the same NEMA 6-50P plug the TA does. That's a pretty standard plug for any 230v machine sold in the US that comes equipped with a plug. It's will not matter that the HH210 draws 25 or so amps. The breaker protects the wires in the wall, not the machine. Since Hobart uses a 6-50P plug, it's fine to run off a 50 amp 230v circuit..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan
