This sure is confusing.Half of the time they say they are 9/16" 18tpi fittings, and then they say 5/8" 18tpi.Which is it??Here's a hose that specifies 9/16" fittings.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Argon-Hose-f...23752487&rt=ncAnd a regulator that specifies 5/8".http://www.ebay.com/itm/Argon-CO2-Mi...item2ea4d917c5Just a couple welders, big hammers, grinders, and torches.Work will free you.Men in dirty jeans built this country, while men in clean suits have destroyed it. Reply:5/8" x18tpi at the regulator. Some machines use 1/4" pipe thread at the inlet.

Reply:I discovered the 5/8"x18 argon fittings are referred to as inert B fittings like the smaller 9/16" O/A fittings. Had never heard inert being called B fittings before but saw it in the Western Brass catalogue.

Reply:Also, the water cooler lines are 5/8" "B", LEFT hand thread. Inert gas are 5/8" "B", RIGHT hand thread. Don't buy the wrong ones."Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! Reply:But what if my regulator has a 5/8" fitting, and my tig torch has a 5/8" fitting? How can I use the 9/16" hose?I want to put this hose between my torch and regulator.....http://www.ebay.com/itm/Argon-Hose-f...item4ae8279b84I could obviously put these fittings on the hose, but why? http://www.ebay.com/itm/ARGON-Fittin...item2c84113db1Why even have the 9/16" if they don't fit anything?Last edited by AKweldshop; 05-11-2015 at 01:35 AM.Just a couple welders, big hammers, grinders, and torches.Work will free you.Men in dirty jeans built this country, while men in clean suits have destroyed it. Reply:Ok, I bought a 50 foot roll of hose that specified 9/16" fitting on the ends. They arrived today, screwed one end into my regulator, which specified 5/8.And on the other end I used my 5/8" coupler, to connect my tig torch, to the hose.My conclusion.5/8" and 9/16" are equal. No difference.Just a couple welders, big hammers, grinders, and torches.Work will free you.Men in dirty jeans built this country, while men in clean suits have destroyed it. Trump/Carson 2016-2024
