I heard that Atlas made the Craftmans lathe for Sears, and they also bought out Clausing back in the early 1950's.... Question is, I have a Clausing 5935 12" lathe, probably made in the 60's,  I need a tailstock, it had none when i bought it, there is a nice tailstock on ebay for a 12" sears lathe, what are the chances that it will fit? or can i MAKE it fit.......

Reply:The Atlas machines have flat ways and if I understand correctly the Clausing has 'V' ways.
Reply:O.K.   Thanks, I will keep looking but some people are a little Greedy, I mean 400 to 600 bucks for a tailstock is crazy, i paid $650 for the lathe, less tailstock.......
Reply:You should be able to score for less than $400 from a used dealer.I just looked at Plaza's site. Joe Bergamo, owner, has several parts for 5900 series T/S listed but not a complete unit. This is not to say you're out of luck. You should e-mail him as his listings are not always up to date. I'll try to find some other links.Last edited by dunemetal; 09-27-2010 at 11:14 PM.

Reply:Hay, thanks........
