Have a chance to buy a slightly used 101 with I believe the shorter leads for 1200. Is it a good unit? It's that or an everlast IGBT unit thats 80 amps for 600... I'm looking for resale value down the line as well as quality. Need to know now though as I have to make this purchase soon. It will be going on my plasma table. Also how legitimate does http://store.cyberweld.com/thdyplcucu10.html look? I'd hate to pay 1200 and if I end up needing money I can't unload it...
Reply:The cutmaster 102 is I beileive a 100 amp unit. That sucker will do anything you want it to do, without question. I have a cutmaster 52 myself that I use on and off a cnc table and it's been solid.JasonLincoln Idealarc 250 stick/tigThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 52Miller Bobcat 250Torchmate CNC tableThermal Arc Hefty 2Ironworkers Local 720
Reply:Good price if it works. The Cutmaster 101 has a maximum output of 80 Amps at 40% duty cycle. If you compare the actual cutting output power in killowatts, it is equivalent to a Hypertherm Powermax1000 or Powermax65. A new one has a list price in the $2500 range.Jim |
