power bevelr

does anyone use a portable power beveler or end prep machine for stainless pipe. i am looking to get one that will bevel pups from 2inch sch 80 to 6inch sch 80. yes i do realize they are quite expensive. and no i dont want a plasma torch beveler. any info is much apprecieated. thanx guys.

Reply:The Millhog is the ONLY way to go.  Make sure you've got a good compressor and a good sized diameter hose.  The more CFM they have to work with, the happier they are.  I prefer the multi-bit tools like the Wart Hog vs the single if you're looking at prepping a bevel vs. trying to cut to length.

Reply:MIllhog does a very nice job, had the power to cut a 37.5 bevel on 4" 120 wall stainless.  Loud as hell but keep your bits sharp and you'll be very pleased.Have we all gone mad?

Reply:I called on the price of one a few weeks back and they are in the area of 9000.00 hence the question if you have to ask.  However I found 1 on ebay that I got for a G that listed for around 2 and sels for abot 1500.00 Heck is the name of it, it is electric and once dialed in does a great job.  I would like to also let everyone know if you look up reliable tools on ebay they have a lot of great stuff at good bidding prices I have timed my purchases to win the item that i wanted.  Trust me i dont work for them, the owner has built his business around ebay only check them out.Ron

Reply:what I did was google (reliable tools) and it will bring up reliable tools with e-bay then search there whole site as I mentioned I got lucky with the Heck Ind beveler tool.  Good luck any more info needed let me know, I have been fortunate that I can pick up from them but have been watching now every day for new listings from them.

Reply:6 inches or larger plus it will do flat plate in that is needed as well.
