Reply:I can't remember what they were off the top of my head. I think they are some sort of cross breed. My friends 2 girls do 4-H pigs every year for the last 3 years. I think this year their cousin will also get a pig so we'll have at least 3. We get what the guy who runs the pig club gets at his farm, pretty much what all the kids but one or two families do.We buy at least 2 pigs every year at the 4-H auction at the Grange Fair. Last year with processing it worked out to about $3 a pound roughly. I have about 100 lbs of pork, or 1/2 a pig that was my share. ( we all chip in and buy the pigs, then split all the meat evenly and split the total cost ).
