got my new cordless makita set i think a great deal for $450.00i tried to buy a set not made in china but no luckthe tools are made in china but the batterys are made in japan Attached Images
Reply:Just adding to your collection... Looks like a good deal to me. I only run dewalt stuff. Its all made in mexico and czech republic. Hard to find anything made here anymore. You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else. Albert Einstein
Reply:Looks nice!!Ya gotta spend money to make money!
Reply:Makita makes some nice cordless tools.  That looks like a great deal!Good luck finding a cordless set made in the usa though :-(.BTW: where did you find that kit?Last edited by WeldingMachine; 12-06-2010 at 09:38 PM.Reason: forgot somethingBuy American, or don't whine when you end up on the bread line.
Reply:I am NOT a Makita fan, but my last drill was a Makita 9.6v and I can't come up with one complaint! Also my gas chop saw is a Wacker, which is the same as Makita, Dolmar and Speedi-cut. However, I was told Makita makes them all. And you guessed it, I can't complain about it at all. Oh, and I have a Makita 4" grinder, yep, no complaints. But I am still NOT a Makita fan!........ Just, don't ask......"Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! I sent him over to snag that MIC-4 while tbone wasn't looking!" - duaneb55"I have bought a few of Tbone's things unlike Stick-Man who helps himself" - TozziWelding"Stick-man"
Reply:should be a great set...My last Makita was the original 9.6 which was great (still use around the house, batteries/drill dated 1985)..."upgraded" to Dewalts and Milwaukee's over the years but never loved like i did the original Makita
Reply:That's a good lookin' set, Ed!! I also still have an old Makita 9.6 and it doesn't owe me a dime. Also have the Makita 4" grinder which has been thru hell and I finally had to put some new brushes in it last spring. Repacked the gearbox while I had it apart and it still hums right along. I've had the Makita Chop saw about 5 yrs now and no complaints about it.                                                  MikeOl' Stonebreaker  "Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes"Hobart G-213 portableMiller 175 migMiller thunderbolt ac/dc stick Victor O/A setupMakita chop saw
Reply:Used to use a drill to drive screws and tecs into wook and steel until a mate let me use his impact driver.I coluld not get to the tool shop quick enough to get my own.  If you havent used one yet, you will love it!
Reply:I recently got the same set to replace a stolen makita drill driver combo. One tip, get some of the 1.5 amp/hr batteries in addition to the 3.0 amp/hr in the kit.The smaller batteries are much nicer in the drill and driver IMO (better blanace and being ligter is also a bonus).I really like the chargers from makita. The 1.5's go from dead to full in about 12 minutes, the 3.0's 25 minutes. With 2 1.5's and 2 3.0's (and 2 chargers), I never have to stop and wait for something to recharge, yet I also don't have to carry a boat load of batteries ... If ya have any tool money left, checkout http://rutlandonsale.dirxioncdn.com/...kCode=11110flxon page 52 of the flyer is the cordless bandsaw for $280!!! that includes 2 batteries and a charger (almost like the bandsaw is free)
Reply:i bought it from toolbarn.com i was going to go with milwaukeelike my corded tools but this was such a good deali to have a old makita drill (1994) and still worksi bought my milaukee stuff from toolbarn tooill look into the 1.5 batterys thanks for the info Attached Images
Reply:Wow nice. I didnt know they put the twist lock cords on their grinders. Nothin like a good old milwaukeedrill, i swear if they grab they almost snap your wrist. The ones i used at work never gave in when they snagged.Ya gotta spend money to make money!
Reply:I still have my good old milwaukee grinder thats probably 10 + years old and never gives up. To bad milwaukee don't make them in the usa anymore.Ya gotta spend money to make money!
Reply:I have that set.  Three things I didn't like:1) The circular saw is for left-handed people.  If righties use it they get saw dust all over them.2) The flashlight has 3 or 4 detents and your work will never align with one.  Ryobi makes a superior light where you rotate the head to adjust the angle.3) The high/low speed switch on the drill often jams and you have to fiddle with it.
