Reply:OK. Old fart lesson due in.About 1400 or so degrees is when steel goes non magnetic, hence the love for DC welders(on toy projects) and the bead they toss(aint no arc blow). On 3 inch thick crap the movie changes. THAT is why high horsepower flux-core rules on Heavy Duty in the modern age---but is USELESS to a hobby guy. Hey.
