Student shop project, trying to use up scrap metal

Here are a few desk organizers/paper weights the kids made in class using pipe, round stock and some "props" cut out with the CNC Plasma Cutter.  I think they did pretty good work.

Reply:That turned out great, I'll remember this when I get around to finishing my stump. Fyi, for the top of mine I took 1/4" round rod and welded it in as a big spiral. That gave me the ability to create an uneven surface for a bit more reality.If you don't want to stand behind our Troops, feel free to stand in front of them.

Reply:We sandblasted them and then thinned down bleach with water and sprayed them.  It starts to rust pretty fast, after the kids leave I turned on all of the fans and added a little vinegar spray to the projects.  It speeds up the rust but produces chlorine gas that can be pretty nasty, so be careful!  After a couple of coats let it dry and hit it with some clear coat, the rust is pretty delicate.
