I've seen them before in woodworking but does someone make an intersection jig?  For fitting 3 sections of tube together to form an "x" where all of the angles are right angles.  I've got corner (90 degree) jigs but they only handle two pieces at a time and I've been trying to get them to align without success.  Is there a trick to this?  I'm working with some thick wall receiver tube and getting the pieces perfectly lined up is a pain.- Steve

Reply:The great thing about what we do is we get the big twofer.  The onefer is making the tools to make the other onefer, a twofer.  We were talking about my cutting back the work load the other day and looking around the shop.  Rare would be the bird that could properly identify all of the fixtures and custom tools I've made over the years.  Figure out what you need and then make it, then make it work.life is good
Reply:If I recall correctly, Stronhandtools has a three axis clamp that could suit you well. You can find it in Northerntool for a mere 219,99...http://www.northerntool.com/shop/too...2945_200342945Expensive for a hobbist but might be worth it if you are into production. I bet that putting together structures (such as table frames) with four of these babies... is a joy!

Reply:sdr,  I've read this thread a few times and I'm not sure what's being asked?Do you mean an X or a + (sign), and do you mean three pieces or four?  I am so confused rereading this that I'd have no idea what in the 'H' you're trying to accomplish? If you mean in one plane, flat, then what are you asking? clearly two of the flat joint pairs could be made up in a 90 and when those two tacked up 90's were held in the same 90 clamp...... that would make a clean + of four pieces but I'm still lost where the 3 pieces come in?They'd be + sign?  Not sure what you're asking or where the lack of tooling exists?Do you have any pics, images, links or any way to help others 'see' what it is you can't get done with the 90deg corner clamp in sequence?Cheers,Kevin MorinKenai, AK

Reply:I also have no idea how i remembered those terms. The last time I was in a public classroom that taught such tripe was about 6/5 or 6/8/1971(last day) and when the bell rang I floated out the door to the exit door which actually turned out to be a janitors closet. Good ol Daze Draw it up and make one. Don't be afraid to use wood if it's for occasional use.A little scorch never hurt a thing.Bubble gumTooth pixDuct tapeBlack glueGBMF hammerScrew gun --bad battery (see above)
