Square Wave Tig 300

This grey machine has served me well over the years. It has a pulse feature that I only play around with every year or so. I guess it's because I am a little old school and never really found the need yet. Anyway.....I decided to play with the pulse again and it doesn't seem to be working.  I even got the book out.  I looked at the trouble chart but no joy. Has anyone with this machine had this happen?  Smoked board or am I just missing something silly?  I was dabbling with some aluminum.  Tips and hints or a specific test procedure is appreciated.2nd query, same machineHave any of you with this machine updated to one of the newer red ones? Anything in particular there over the 300 that makes you happy?ThanksDave
Reply:Not sure why yet, but the pulse is working again. Going step by step to pin it down. I surely must have something switched oddly.I still would like to hear from anyone that went from this series of earlier square wave machine to the newest ones and what you like or not.  IF you are considering a newer machine what do you see that makes you want to make the purchase?ThanksDaveLast edited by Fueler; 10-11-2006 at 09:02 AM.
Reply:i am unfamiliar with the grey ones, but i have a red squarewave 255, and i love it ,it too has pulser, balance, hf, total of 315a at 40%. ihave never run over 270a, so duty cycle and amperage has never beeen an issue. rock solid machine imo.
