Stupid question about auto-dark helmets

I have a speedglas and always forget to turn it on before I strike an arc. Is there some trick to remembering to turn this damn thing on on? Reply:At the end of the day or welding session you can adjust the headband to the smallest setting so every time you go to weld you have to adjust the helmet which should also remind you to check if the helmet is on. A thumbtack on the band could also work so it pokes you enough to remind you what its there for .You could also spend hundreds of dollars on a new helmet like others suggested.

Reply:My shield of choice today is a fibremetal small window flip front with an AD insert lens in it. No controls, no battery. Flip front for grinding and the AD insert make it a winner for me.
