I have about 40 of these collets, I was going to try to sell them but need to know more about the things, I have (i think) every size from small to large.... They worth anything? I assume there older........ Attached Images
Reply:Drill collets/taper sleeve. Probably Morse taper (MT), but can't really tell from the picture. Used to hold straight shank drill bits so they can be used in a drill press without reverting to a taper mounted drill chuck...save a little headroom. As to their worth, try eBay and look under completed auctions.Last edited by WyoRoy; 12-23-2010 at 03:57 PM.

Reply:They look like morse taper tap drivers, prolly Sculley/Jones.Look inside and see if there is a square pocket about 2/3rds down. There are drill drivers too from Scully but they are split once and have a drift slot to drive a straight shank drill with a tang from the morse adapter.Matt
Reply:AAAAHHHH. Mat your right, some are COLLIE and some are Scully.... and they do have a square down in there. Must be tap collets, I was thinking if they are for drill bits, than what is going to hold it from spinning in the collet? I may keep a few of these, as my cheap tap holders are horrid to work with......The one in the picture states it is 1/2" P.T. I wonder if that stands for Pipe Tap...??
Reply:some are Brown & sharpe also....
