above is one example if you google aluminum wall art photos you will see a hundred more examples. and Yes I did google how to do it, but after searching for an hour got very few specific tips. just this one forum that touched on it brieflyhttp://www.metalartistforum.com/maf/...ring-aluminum/here are my questions. 1. what paint is used that will stick to aluminum?2. what techniques are used to make the lines on the aluminum?3. assuming it is done via angle grinder, what attachements would be most used? brass wire cup? wheel flap? wire wheel? standard gridning wheel?4. anyone try this and have some example how to's?Not looking to make money off this, just something fun to do with some scraps I have lyiung around. thanks !Last edited by AluminumWelder; 03-26-2014 at 11:47 PM.

Some curved, some that look like a surf board with lights behind it. He had an aluminum backsplash in his kitchen that was purple with lights under it. Reply:PPG DAU75 for bare metal. Add solvent tints from PPG or house of color. Works well, is expensive as hell. I have been using ClearGuard from Sculpt nouveau with their own solvent dies for several years. They work well, are easy to use and are much more affordable. |
