GTAW and SMAW

Hi all expat here,Do you guys know how to calculate the electrode/filler rod for a pipe weldment? I have a norms for that but didn't specify it is for GTAW or SMAW. Let said i have to use 33kgs of electrode for one joint. How many percent of 33kgs is for GTAW(filler rod) and SMAW(electrode)?
Reply:I'm no pipe expert by any means but if the joint calls for a combo of gtaw and smaw, the root will obviously be gtaw with fill and cap smaw. 33kg is almost 73lbs.
