Reply:They're about 1/4" wall thickness for 3000 psi cylinders.
Reply:as long as it has the protective cap on it i would say you probably could.    I have seen them take a tumble off a truck doing 50 MPH and not hurt anything but the curb it slid into.Vantage 500's LN-25's, VI-400's, cobramatics, Miller migs, synch 350 LX, Powcon inverters, XMT's, 250 Ton Acurrpress 12' brake, 1/4" 10' Atlantic shear,Koikie plasma table W/ esab plasmas. marvel & hyd-mech saws, pirrana & metal muncher punches.

Reply:Years ago during the construction of a power plant near Houston someone built a launcher. Laid a bottle in it, knocked the valve off and off it went into the lake. Don't know how many got launched. Sent from my iPhone 5S using Tapatalk

Reply:I can attest to a 35 foot drop of an AC4 and 300 oxygen with caps to concrete and all ends well.  Except for some staining of undergarments.
Reply:year's ago i was assisting an older more experienced welder lower a couple cylinders from one floor to the next on a half completed high-rise by throwing a loop over the cap then taking a couple half hitches on the upside down cylinder body and putting it over the edge. i was too green at the time to know how crazy that was.i.u.o.e. # 15queens, ny and sunny fla
Reply:If you look at old carbon dioxide cylinders you can see the dates of testing, usually every five years.  Often they started as oxygen cylinders and after many many years they are used for carbon dioxide which only runs 800 psi.  I have seen dates going back before WW1.  I wish I remember the exact year but it was something like 09 or earlier... I am meaning 1909!  The cylinders which were made in Germany in the 1930's had a swastika on them.  The swastika has been overmarked with a stamp that makes it a square with a cross in the middle.  Check your old silver carbon dioxide cylinders for testing dates.  Prior to WW2 is not uncommon.
