anyone have or have used the grizzly G9742 5x6 saw http://www.grizzly.com/products/5-x-...vel-Head/G9742 thinking  very seriously about selling my 4x6 hf and getting one of these. would love the swivel vs moving the vise. i looked at the jet but don't wanna pay close two seven for a chip tray also looked at the norther tool cheapest price and looking plus its close two 200 for shipping from them. would like to stay around 500 if you've got the grizz how do you like it have you added coolant or any extras  thanks350P 30A spool gun cut master 51  syncro 250 other stuff " take a dog off the street and make him prosper and he will not bite you sad the same cannot be said for man" i didnt use punctuation just to piss you off

Reply:I don't have the Grizzly version but I do have the swivel head saws from Northern Tool and Homier.Love both of them for their versitility. The only major "does not have it" of both of my swivel heads is the lack of a solid pad on the cutoff side of the blade. On occasion I would have liked to have had the extra pad on that side of the blade to hold down the piece being cut.I would not trade either of them for a non-swivel version.

Reply:I extended my pad and added a fence to the opposite side. It helps especially when using a stop, the parts don't disengage and bind the blade.  Also, allows for cutting shorter parts. Mine is permanent and notched to cut up to 45 degrees.
Reply:I like the idea of the plate on the other side of the blade. That gives me new ideas for my delima. (FWIW, I have this saw - http://www.grizzly.com/products/6-1-...-Bandsaw/G4030)I need to be able to cut anywhere from 1 1/2" up to 3" 16ga U bends. The standard vise will only allow you to cut them one way.I need to be able to cut them on the centerline at any angle. I think by adding a plate, locating peg, and a moveable clamp - it just might solve my problem. Thanks for the pics!
