Hi guys, Long story short, bought this stick welder off of Ebay a couple years ago. Turns out it is 3 Phase, and it runs on 400V. Seller didn't state this, and I bought it for $200, which includes shipping. Got $50 back, but I can't use the welder. After doing some research, I found out the welder was sold by Hobart in Holland, and made by an Italian manufacturer who is no longer in business. I don't even know how she came across this. and she didn't even send me the manual she had pictured in the ad.I don't have access to 3 phase power, so I would have to create a 3rd phase (can be done), but I've been told I would also need a step down transformer to get to the 400V input required, which is just too much hassle, unless someone else knows another way?I am really hoping to find a home for this welder, hoping to get a couple bucks for it ($50?), but will give it away free to keep it from going to the junkyard. Maybe you know enough about industrial electronics that it could be modified?I'm in the pittsburgh, Pa area and am hoping for a local pickup, but we can discuss shipping if someone is truly interested.TobyHere are links for a couple photos if they don't appear on the page.[url=]

Reply:Looks like a SIP. Could be good for Frankenwelder parts such as diodes, caps etc. If I were closer I'd go for it.
Reply:I got three phase power and you've peaked my interest. PM with a estimate on shipping to send it out Chalfont, PA ( zip 18914 ) and what money you want for your trouble. If it sounds good we'll go from there.
Reply:Is this just a stick welder? I see a port for some sort of remote on the front. I get that the knob to the left is amperage, is the one on the right balance control? If so I'd be very interested in it. How much to ship to ogden IA 50212? Thanks Kris
Reply:if u still got this let me know ill give u 150 for it |
