A co-worker asked me to do a nameplate for his fiance who is graduating from Law School in a month or so...... He asked me to do the name and incorporate the scales of Justice into it....... which was something new I had never done before.......I decided to use stainless for the scales.........First.... I drew the picture to get an idea of what I was going to do.......I had to brush up on my stainless welding........For the top piece I bought a single Acorn Nut and welded it inside a small piece of tube...... that would then be welded to the top to complete the look.......And the result........Precision TIG 185 and MP 210Bobcat 225NTCutmaster 42O/A tanks.... 2 Argon tanks...... 2 C25 TanksFacebook...... Reply:Awesome Fex!!!!!! Did you give the scales to your friend yet? If not, might wanna tilt the scales a bit. As all law students, lawyers, judges etc... know , that the "scales of justice" symbol never has a "balanced" scale. It's always tilted to one side and "Lady Justice" is always blind(folded). Reply:Thanks everyone......I originally was going to tilt the scales but he wanted them level..... I told him Justice is never balanced and I laughed at his metaphor...... but he's the one buying it.....The chain isn't stainless so I am ordering some small stainless chain which should come in next week......... Once I switch out the chain I will be totally finished........Apparently the fiance is being honored next Friday for being top 2% of her class or something so he is going to give it to her at that ceremony........Hopefully she digs it........Precision TIG 185 and MP 210Bobcat 225NTCutmaster 42O/A tanks.... 2 Argon tanks...... 2 C25 TanksFacebook...... Reply:Lemme tell ya about the scales of justice.Had an old girlfriend when I was still South of 30yrs old.Her ex boyfriend had it in for me. Never could figure why old boyfriends get mad at the new boyfriend. It was her choice, I didn't twist her arm.Anyways.......we were in a bar (back in my bar days, don't do that thing anymore), and in comes Bubba (just a fictional name). He wants to start a fight. So I sidestep the issue, and head for the door. I'm about 150lbs soaking wet, and not fight durableHe follows us outside, and I'm heading for the pickup. Wanna put some miles between us, and him.He jumps in his car WITH 3 OF HIS BUDDIES ALREADY WAITING IN THE CAR (like that woulda been a fair fight)I head out of the parking lot at a goodly rate of speed, and they follow right on my tail.....also a goodly rate of speed.I decide to even the odds. At the time I drove a 1978 3/4 ton PowerWagon. I hit the binders at about maybe 45-50mph.He, and his buds, were in an 80's full sized Chevrolet.......back when cars were pretty big.IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THEY ATE THE *** END OF MY PICKUP, AND I SAW A HUGE CLOUD OF DUST AND STEAM IN THE REARVIEW MIRROR. Chase over. So, I get home, and start thinking..................This dood is/was a PITA. Had dealings with him before. So I file a report with the police. Rear end collision. Hit and Run.He filed a report too. Vehicular AssaultThis all occurred within hours I guess, according to the reports.I get a call from a detective........go in, and have a talk, and come clean about what happenedHe refused to talk to a detective, and a warrant was issued. He was arrested at workSo...............this all finally comes down to a court date. My charges were at issueThe judge reads the record, and dismisses the case.
