Inside of an AHP alphatig foot pedal

I am 99% sure that if someone had a desire, they could substitute a SSC controls L10000 potentiometer foot pedal for the standard AHP foot pedal. I took my foot pedal apart and it is a B10K linear potentiometer and a momentary switch. All you would have to do is buy a GX 16 5 pin circular plug and solder it onto the SSC pedal. Reply:Must have picked up a second gen Alpha, minr has the seperated 2-3 plugs, 2 prong for both torch switch and foot pedal, and the 3 for the actual "pedal" internal potentiometer.
Reply:Louie1961, good stuff. The only thing to be aware of is the connector's part number. I've got a 2014 AHP Alpha TIG, and thought the connectors were GX 16-5, based on the pictures on the interwebs. So I ordered those cheap, actually shipped from in the USA, only to find out they were too small and what I needed were GX 20-5. Yes, I should've measured gooder. Anyway, both seem to be available, albeit the GX20-5 I got only seemed available from China but only took a few weeks to get over here. The 16 and 20 refer to, I believe, the the approximate size of hole these connectors panel mount in (in mm). Just measured my connectors, the GX16-5 panel mount thread diameter (panel mount hole diam.)  and came up with 15.75mm, the GX20-5 panel mount hole is at 18.70mm. Hope this helps.
Reply:Just made a pinout for my 2014 AHP Alpha TIG 200X foot pedal. Pretty much the same as Loui1961's. Noticed in your pinout Louie1961 that you list a purple wire on pin 1.
