This is a flatbed for a semi truck. It was being unhooked with a load on it, the person didn't set the blocks right for the landing gear and the one leg slipped and tore the webbing of the frame. Any ideas on how to repair it? Trying to get pics up.
Reply:Pics would definitely help. Is it an aluminum flat bed or steel? My "collection":Homemade Stick WelderVictor O/A TorchAC 225Ideal Arc 250HF 90 Amp Flux CoreHF Mig 170Solar 2020 Plasma CutterPower i-Mig 140EHarris O/A torchHF Dual Mig 131140STAlpha Tig 200x

Reply:Here's what I would do: Drill an 1/8" hole at each end of the crack. Heat the part to a dull red with rosebud. Pound it back into shape and then weld up the crack on both sides. My "collection":Homemade Stick WelderVictor O/A TorchAC 225Ideal Arc 250HF 90 Amp Flux CoreHF Mig 170Solar 2020 Plasma CutterPower i-Mig 140EHarris O/A torchHF Dual Mig 131140STAlpha Tig 200x
Reply:Measure your hole centers on the landing gear. Drill 2 holes in a piece of 2 or 3" angle and bolt that to the bracket before you reweld. On some of the gears the holes are pretty tight to the column. If your off it will be a pita to get lined up. You could also bolt the landing gear back on and use a chain and binder to pull it back straight..
