I know this is usually done in large industrial applications, but the tank is the size of a small garage. I've got two welding stations, the second one is only used if something needs to be welded and someone is welding at the first station. So they would be run simultaneously. Second station is probably used less than half as much as the first. Here's the deal, I get charged $18 per delivery when they come swap out my tanks. Doesn't matter how many tanks they swap out, delivery charge is flat rate. So instead of having two cylinders at each station and calling a delivery when each is empty, I'd like to just have one going for both stations, swap that tank out with the next when it's empty, then call in the swap when the second is almost empty. Saves me $18 every now and then.So can two welders run off the same tank at the same time? Both tanks are 390 CF. I would assume I couldn't run both welders out of one regulator and that I would need a regulator per welder. Does anyone know of a regulator tee fitting??John 3:16(2) Miller Pheonix 456(2) Millermertic 252Dynasty 210DXHobart 210MVPDoringer D350 SA Cold SawScotchman 350LT Cold SawWebb 10x50 MillWebb 15x40 LatheGeka Bendicrop Ironworker
Reply:Sometimes I come and ask questions on here before I do any research. Look like this is a fairly common practice and the fitting I'm looking for is Western T-92. But that aside, is there any reason I need two regulators if both welders are running the same CFM? Can I just split the gas hoses after? Both are MIG welders, set to around 15-20CFM.John 3:16(2) Miller Pheonix 456(2) Millermertic 252Dynasty 210DXHobart 210MVPDoringer D350 SA Cold SawScotchman 350LT Cold SawWebb 10x50 MillWebb 15x40 LatheGeka Bendicrop Ironworker
Reply:If both welders use the same flow rate, and they are never used simultaneously, no reason why you can't "Y" it after the regulator. 1st on WeldingWeb to have a scrolling sig! Reply:We used to use these on the big liquid argon bottles and have 5 or 6 welders going at the same time. You can also get those 390 bottles in a 12 pack configuration, you wouldn't have to refill for months.
Reply:These are pretty handy,too. |
