Welding on a door

On in the Volvo PV -klubb ask a question about welding on a door. You can se it in the middle of the picture. http://forum.pvklubben.no/viewtopic....791&start=1860Can someone tell me about it? Is it tin there?May be some trouble to weld?
Reply:It appears to have been leaded at the joint to smooth out the seam.It will make for a difficult weld if it cant be cleaned off. ( I tried to weld up an area on my old BMW that was similar,did not work well...) Jim
Reply:Thanks! I´m wondering about what crack this is? I have seen it before in many Volovs?May be best to do nothing? Og best - tinn it again?
Reply:Wire wheel the heck out of it. Vee it out slightly with a cut off wheel, and mig weld it up. Use .024 wire, and a copper back up piece if you can get in there. I just did the same repair on an MG. It is just a weak spot where the roll over for the window ends, and the wing window starts. If you can get to the back side, the cut a small strip of steel and plug weld it to both sides, then make the repair.
