I do a lot of camping and I'm sick of hotdogs, so I decided to make an adjustable height grill surface to put over a campfire for burgers, steak, and even a pot of boiling water or something. I designed it so that each leg is adjustable on it's own so it can sit level on uneven surfaces. Pics of the grill later tonight, but here's the design:
Reply:Nice! And you can adjust the legs separately for uneven surfaces!

Reply:Well, heck, let's put a pic or three of a finished one. This one was made on site on top of the Mogollon Rim fall of 2008. We spent a couple of weeks up there with my dad and I get bored real easy. Even when there's scenery like the little goat running through the trees.I had Lucy the welding rig towing the toy hauler and I just happened to have some scrap steel and the small forge. We ran down to Cottonwood and I grabbed a file to do a snake for pops and I picked up a grill at the second hand store for a surprise for him. As you can see it swings out of the way for tending. It's nothing fancy but it works like a pocket on a shirt. Some here will recognize the area. Back in 1960 Cottonwood only had two Arizona Republic paper routes to cover the whole valley. I had the one downtown, thirty five papers, I was twelve. It's a little different now....... Attached Imageslife is good
Reply:I'm not that good at blacksmithing but I did see that snake hiding in the file. Attached Imageslife is good
