Which 3M respirator filters are for welding fumes?Sent from my SPH-M950 using TapatalkMiller Dialarc 250 AC/DCWeldcraft A-150VSmith O/P
Reply:The N95 is rated for welding. I also believe there is an 8212 or something like that. I've used the N95 for many years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Reply:Miller makes a really useful half size respirator that is small enough to fit under most hoods. I use it daily since I grind and weld on hot dip galvy clad steel. Link:http://www.millerwelds.com/products/...ion/half_mask/Its pretty comfortable and it directs your exhaled breath downward and not up into your lens to reduce fogging. No, I'm not a Miller rep, I just found that it works well after trying a lot that don't.AWS D1.1 Certified SMAW 3G Unlimited, Open Root                             FCAW-G 3G Unlimited, w/BackerCellular Tower Reinforcement Welding on the frozen tundra of the greater Mid-West
Reply:I would go 3M all the way, but I may be biased I work at the factory that makes them.  http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3...94684441&rt=c3
Reply:I use the 2297 filters. They work very well.Aspiring Top-Notch WeldorLooking for work/experience in Eastern Massachussetts
Reply:3M 2091 or 2097. The 2097 also guard against organic vapors (dead rotting flesh)"Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! I sent him over to snag that MIC-4 while tbone wasn't looking!" - duaneb55"I have bought a few of Tbone's things unlike Stick-Man who helps himself" - TozziWelding"Stick-man"

Reply:One thing to keep in mind with the 3M filters: 2091 and 2097 are both sold as welding filters, but the 2097 offers protection against ozone in welding fumes while the 2091 does not. My respirator with the thin 2097 filters fits under any welding helmet I have perfectly.IAMAW Local 330Airco 300 AC/DC HeliwelderAirco Dip-Pak 200 with Profax spool gunPowr-Kraft AC225Everlast PowerArc 200stBuffalo Forge No.21 drill pressSpeedglas 9100xxAirco, Oxweld, Purox, Victor torchesLincoln Ranger 8
