I posted this also in the general questions area but wanted to duplicate it here for Lincoln users also. Thanks.Hey, I just welded today for the second time with this machine, a Lincoln Pro Mig 180. I welded some legs on a trampoline. I posted after the first time welding the top of a swing that the gun got a little warm, and today after welding the trampoline legs, I noticed it didn't seem as hot but when looking it over I noticed that the back of the gun handle has a crack in it and the tube part of the gun with the curve in it that the nozzle screws onto also has a crack in it. I figure this may be the culprit of the warming. I was to late to contact Lincoln today and will have to wait till Monday morning. Can you tell me how they will warranty this? Will they simply put one in the mail right to me? I purchased this welder new on 4/26/07 from Lowes. I hope it is not a long process trying to get this fixed. ThanksWhitey

Reply:Dude, just replace it. Get yourself a good Binzel, tweco. Reply:the store should have in house warranty for at least 30 daysso you might want to call them first
Reply:Lowe's won't do any in-house warranty on parts for equipment. The warranty page that came with the welder shows how to contact a local or regional Lincoln warranty repair place. The gun has a 90 day warranty so he needs to get in touch with them soon. Chances are it will be a direct replacement instead of replacing parts. |
