Hello all,I am working on a study determing how many nozzles and diffusers we should be going through on a yearly basis.  My area is currently running two JR Automation Weld Cells each equipped with 4 robots which all use .035 solid cored wire and 1/2" bore brass Tregaskiss weld nozzles.  I have already determined that we are recycling about 75% more than we should be due to a lack of instruction for our operators and this issue is being addressed currently.  What I am curious about is how long (preferably based on # of welds or amount of wire consumed) should one of these nozzles last before becoming too damaged to use?  I understand that it is going to very based on the robot paths and whether or not they are hitting parts or the fixture, etc.  However any information would be greatly appreciated.I am planning on watching consistently for a year but I am looking for a baseline to get started as to how often they are typically being changed.Thank you.
Reply:Seen copper nozzles, vice brass, for automated MIG setups.  Copper is usually selected for higher duty cycle (automated) processes.  Discussions with Bernard techs back in 2013 confirmed my suspicion.  Related, http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php...hat-s-the-DEAL"Discovery is to see what everybody else has seen, and to think what nobody else has thought" - Albert Szent-Gyorgyi
