Hi:I am trying to decide which pyrex/gas lens kit is best,but i am not sure which tungsten diameter is the one most commenly used by the regular guy in his garage shop.Each diameter has its own kit and i am trying to make the right decesion my gas supplier is 25 miles away and the only around and the prices reflect this.I would appreciate some one with experience to help me amke this decesion, Thank you Lakehunter
Reply:What are you welding? As Steve said, 3/32" is a nice all around size, but if you want to do AC tig on alum, you would be better off with 1/8". If you only do thin DC tig on say exhaust tube, then something like 1/16" might be a better choice.Other than when I do alum, I keep the 3/32" parts in my torch..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size.
