Hi all,I recently made some stuff for our little tractor.A manure fork and a square hay/straw bale spear. Not all photo's are in decent focus (bad hardware) but I only noticed that when I had put them on my pc.Outside shop/workbench Welds for fitting up. Reply:Actual fitting up.After use & abuse !As you notice, the left 2 spears are a little bend, due to some wooden beam that was hidden inside the manure pile ... so that's where it went during the winter ... I was missing some ramp this winter ...Have to straighten those back again. After all, it worked like a champ !! Better then expected. The only thing I would change if I would make this again is to get a heavier spring for the closing mechanism. Here I used a piece from an old one that was lying around and that fitted the job.Lincoln Electric Invertec 170SLincoln Electric Powertec 350C PRO
Reply:For the hay spear I used some spears, so I can replace them if they should get bend.actual fitupLincoln Electric Invertec 170SLincoln Electric Powertec 350C PRO

Reply:In order for the misses she told me to make a gift for a friends newborn son Jackson (call name Jax). Since they are into horses I decided to make a halter hanger.I still have to do some cleaning up and then paint it (black).Lincoln Electric Invertec 170SLincoln Electric Powertec 350C PRO
Reply:WOW! That is some very clean work! Nice job!
Reply:I also am in "the making of" a coal bucket.marking1 piece bend, the bench wouldn't let me go very far, so it had to be made in 2 pieces + bottom4th wall welded on. TIG process, wich I never do, it was more melting the sides together inside lookIt's not pretty, but hey coal's aren't pretty too.here I am so far.I welded some pieces to the side an tapped thread in them. Now I only have to think about some handle ... I was thinking about a steel rod, bended in a U-form and some wooden piece on it, but I have not figured out how to do that yet.Suggestions are welcome.CheersLincoln Electric Invertec 170SLincoln Electric Powertec 350C PRO

Reply:As someone that feeds 100s of round bales / year, your bale feeder was very intelligently made.  Most people put one large spear and a couple little spear and they are usually not on the same plane.  Your spear is very versatile.  For example, you can use yours on a pallet.  Good  job!Farmer2Hobart Champion EliteMiller S-32p 12Lincoln sp175tLincoln 225 ac tombstoneHarris oxy/aceteleneMakita grinders/chopsawHypertherm Powermax 45
Reply:have you tried using your manure for to lift bales? looks like it would be strong enough, but probably wouldnt go into them very well maybe? One thing I was going to make was a 3-PH pallet fork attachment, any plans to do something like that?Nice work by the way! Nice to see fellow farmers on here and see what they have created!

Reply:Your projects are well thought out and nicely executed - nice welds too Dave J.Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance. ~George Bernard Shaw~ Syncro 350Invertec v250-sThermal Arc 161 and 300MM210DialarcTried being normal once, didn't take....I think it was a Tuesday.
Reply:When I made my bale spear I went with the weld in sleeves. I purchase extra sleeves and positioned them in the farme for multiple options. You slid spear in and drop in a pin.
