Hey! What is the difference between model # 2481-1 and Model # K2473-1I see the 2481 for around $500 on E-bay and the 2473 or 2472 around $700 Thanks!
Reply:Without knowing their model numbers, I can tell you that Lincoln makes two classes of machine in this output. One is tapped (5 positions) voltage, the other is an infinitely variable voltage. The tapped is better if you might run it from a generator, and is also easier to dial in. There's not a lot of advantage to a variable voltage, really.
Reply:Hey! Well that is what I thought The problem is there are 3 different part numbers # 2472-1 is a tapped model for around 650-750 #2473-1 is variable voltage for 675-775 #2481-1 I'm not sure what this is for 450-550 Thanks!

Reply:No products were found in a search for that third one. My guess is maybe a special brand label for a specific store or it's a 175A model that was replaced with the new 180A models.Do you have the model's NAME instead of its number? That's really what we're going to be familiar with without having to do all this research for you.
Reply:At that price, it might be a 120V machine, too.

Reply:Hey! Looks like the less expensive model was made for Lowe's ??I guess I'm wondering what is the difference with the "Cheaper" Lowe's Version ?Thanks!
Reply:Typically the Lincolns made for the retail trade (Lowe's Home Depot) are all tapped machines. The ones I've usually seen are tapped for power and have a variable wire feed. The K2481-1 says that it's tapped both ways. "two-knob tapped control". I wouldn't care for that.Last edited by gnm109; 06-17-2007 at 09:11 PM.Miller Millermatic 252Miller Syncrowave 200Liincoln AC-DC 225Victor O-A Set

Reply:Could not find an operators (Owners) manual at Lincoln electric.com.The brochure said "208 volts 130 amps @ 17 volts 30% duty cycle" "230 volts 230 amps @ 20 volts 30% duty cycle".Good luckReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
