Reply:With any of these closeout/model change deals, do not wait. Awhile back, TA closed out some 161S packages cheap. I think they were the ones without the TIG torch. Now it seems they only offer the stick/TIG combo at much higher price. I think there were some deals on the ESAB 161 there for awhile, though they are still reasonably priced. Saw a killer deal on ESAB Mig Master 250s as well."USMCPOP" First-born son: KIA Iraq 1/26/05Syncrowave 250 w/ Coolmate 3Dialarc 250, Idealarc 250SP-175 +Firepower TIG 160S (gave the TA 161 STL to the son)Lincwelder AC180C (1952)Victor & Smith O/A torchesMiller spot welder

Reply:They will run .035 solid wire no problem. I find the settings to be on the hot side. With the inductance settings it will run really well with Co2.Miller xmt304, Miller S22 p12, Miier Maxstar SD, Miller 252 w 30A, Miller super32p12, Lincoln Ranger 9, Thermal Arc 181I with spoolgun, Hypertherm 10000 ,Smith torches. Reply:Just bought one on Saturday, Had shipping number today. Hopefully there are helmets left when I send in for one.
Reply:Looking through the site more they are also closing out the 211i for $1159. Same deal free shipping and helmet. Really considering picking up a 181 tomorrow if they still have any left. Its about time I got my own welder and this seems like too good of a deal to pass upLast edited by RSTi; 02-10-2014 at 11:32 PM.
Reply:Got mine on order today before the price went back up.Also ordered the foot pedal since i already have a TIG torch with the gas knob.I also learned that the TA/TWECO TIG torch has an on/off button but no rheostat type control, This is what steered me toward the foot pedalStill a great seal at $769Is the free helmet any good?"Ed" was super helpful, answered my endless questions, and did some research for me on the TIG torch controlLast edited by sgtgeo; 02-12-2014 at 11:46 PM.
Reply:I got mine today. Its the Tweco unit with the fusion gun. So it has the harder to find consumables. Oh well just glad to finally have a decent welder, spent way too many years using 110 flux core welders.Sent from my GT-I9295 using Tapatalk

Reply:I needed a small MIG to run .023 wire for automotive stuff, so I got one. They shipped same day and got it here quick. Arrived OK, it's a Tweco. Looks to be decent but we'll see how she runs. S/F....Ken M

Reply:I noticed today that they changed the wire spool, instead of the hitch pin, there is now a plastic nut. I bought a Lincoln 12.5lb spool and it doesn't fit quite right. the pin on the holder is too long for the "hole" in the spool the nut barely catches any threads.Sent from my GT-I9295 using Tapatalk

Reply:Originally Posted by GambleThe helmet is the same made in china helmet you see almost every where else. The good news is that it's free and it actually works pretty damn well. I wouldn't use it for tig though. It's not harder to find them. They are out there everywhere. They are just not as common since they are new.
Reply:Mine arrived today and is also the Tweco Unit. Fine by me. Anyone figure out what needs to be done to get the free helmet?

Reply:Tweco unit also,I though they were closing out the Thermal Arc ones?I like the colors of the Tweco better but Thermal Arc sounds better lol
Reply:Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knows what the difference is between the Tweco Fusion guns that come with these and the Tweco Weldskill guns. I noticed a review of the 211i by Brucer (I think) and his 211i came with a Weldskill. The Thermal Arc poop sheet says it comes with the Weldskil but my 211i came with the Fusion 220 in an opened and beat up box. I was also wondering how many drive rollers your 181i came with. Thanks.
Reply:I got three drive rolls with my 181. S/F....Ken M
Reply:Free Tweco helmet arrived today. I got the fire one.Seems OK at least for free. My 2.5yo son now wears it around the house rather than my miller helmet
Reply:They sell the same ones online as the tweco one from $40-$139 and they are actually pretty decent helmets for stick/mig. It sucks having to take out screws to change the inside cover plate though.Torchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer
