Glove forms

These are cast aluminium industrial glove forms. A fabric glove is put over the form and then coated with plastic. I call it adventure welding as the casting is poor quality, from 5 mm to waferthin and coated with plastic on the inside. I am not complaining as I find that if you can weld this rubbish it pays the rent and makes clean aluminium welding a walk in the park on a balmy spring day. My biggest learning was use thick filler and get going quickly to stay ahead of contamination.

Reply:I live in South Africa. Workers are sometimes careless, the thumbs stick out and get punished.The main reason I posted is that I am self tought welder. I learnt aluminium welding through lurking here and at weldingtipsandtricks.com.I just wanted to say to all the people out there that are trying to teach themselves aluminium welding that it is possible. For me welding this stuff has really tought me to open up the amps, pulse with pedal to float and eliminate contaminants, wait for the horseshoe puddle to form and if you are violent and quick enough you can basically do laywire with thick aluminium filler and successfully weld some truly crappy material.Thanks again for all the information being shared
