I guess its about time i told you about my SA 200. It came with 100 feet of lead and it runs  and it welds, i baught it for $200! I baught it down south when i went to  the folks place and then i left with with the guy who found this amazing deal for me. He moved the oil pressure gauge up to the front and he added a temp gauge, and re wired a bunch of it. i went back home for a holiday recently and played around with it, bead after bead the slag peeled off the weld, rod after rod, full length of the perfect stringers i laid with it. Id say i made a good deal.Nothing Ever Got Done By Quitting, Never Give Up.
Reply:You paid for the leads and they threw in a welder to sweeten the deal. Why do I never find these deals.

Reply:Not welder but a lead story.  I attended a local auction for a construction company bankruptcy liquidation.  Bid and won a 8'X16' tandom axle flatbed trailer.  Stacked on it was another lot consisting of aluminum staging (scaffolding).  After the auction I asked the guy who had won the staging, also a local, if he wanted to throw me a few bucks to haul his staging (on my new trailer) to his yard and help help him unload it.  He was a little terse (I think he wanted the trailer but "fell asleep" during the auction and I got it) and replied "hell no, I've got a truck coming!"  So I responded in kind telling him to get his staging off my trailer.  He and I started unloading it and after it was all off there was a pile of double-ought lead laying on the trailer.  He started to pull it off when I stopped him.  About then the Auctioneer wandered by and the guy asked him which lot the lead belonged to.  I guess he had ****ed off the Auctioneer too as the Auctioneer looked at me and said "it is on your trailer isn't it?"  I have no use for so much big lead but might one day.  And the price was right!Last edited by chevyoneton; 07-23-2007 at 01:14 PM.Old farm boy type welder/fabricator
Reply:When my uncles father in law died his wife started to sell off all his stuff. this guy had his own machine  shop for his logging outfit, on his farm, so you can guess how the combo of his lifes work of collecting things and his wife not knowing the value of anything there turned out to be the best garage sale known to man! my dad baught his 6 foot metal lathe, this list goes on with all the attachments and mesureing devices, $2000 bucks! not too mention all the other stuff too, A friend of my dads who was there found 200 feet of welding lead, he got excited and he said you know what this would be good for?!? and that loggin truck driver guy said.... jumper cables!!, yea i think he baught them and made them into yea.. jumper cables, if i thought i was goin to be a welder at that early age i would have "jumped" on them firstNothing Ever Got Done By Quitting, Never Give Up.
