I am looking to start using Co2 with my Weld-Pak 100 HD. It came with a Lincoln gas conversion kit (model no. lic-7903x), similar to the one below. I read the instructions that came with it (not very helpful). I have a few questions about set-up, before I try MIG for the first time.1.) The solinoid have two leads that plug into the mother board on the welder. is there a + and - for these leads, or can they be reversed?2.) Is there a special type of hose I should use between the solinoid bard and the barb on the gun? Hose clamps needed?3.) The gauge has an acorn nut where the manual shows a knob? How do I set the pressure, or is it already set with the nut? What pressure should I use?If I left anything out, I appologize, thanks in advance for any help!
Reply:OK i think i cna answer most of you questions, correct me guys if i'm wrong.1) The solinoid is inside the welder i think you mean the two small lead comming out of the torch that plug into the welder above the wire feeder rollers? No there is no + or - anyway they fit is good.2) the gun should already have all the nesisarry tubing, just plug it into the machines receptacle and tighten the lock down bolt.3) The acorn nut is probably already set, but the output pressure you what is only about 10 psi.One thing to remember, if you had your polarity set for FCAW (DC-), you would want to reverse it to DC+. The ground cable coneccted to the wing nut on the negative side ( which is usually the one on top.)
Reply:The tubing I mean is the tubing that runs from the solinoid to the gun.other than that, thanks a lot for the help!Lincoln Weld-Pak 100 HD |
