First cuts with new Powermax 65

We finally received our new Powermax 65 on Friday, and after my compressor was repaired, I decided to try it out.  The first couple pics are aprox. 3/4" cut freehand.  The last few are 1 1/2" cut by hand with a guide.  I think the reason it didn't cut through on the end was purely operator error. Attached ImagesThere is no failure...only feedback
Reply:what was your air pressure at??? cuts look pretty good to me, that is thick stuff.........
Reply:The machine sets the air pressure unless you use the manual override which I did not use.There is no failure...only feedback
Reply:Not bad for a little 65 Amp plasma.....especially one that can drag cut right on the plate. One of the great features of the 65 and 85 is the auto gas pressure.....no need to tweak the regulator......and if you switch from a 25' torch lead to a 50'...the pressure automatically detects and resets. For gouging and for different sets of consumables...the air pressure auto compensates as well. It can be overidden if desired. There also are diagnostics and fault history that can be viewed on the digital display. I will be installing my new 85 on my cnc machine today...replacing a 45.Jim colt

Reply:Hey Jim,Is the plant pretty busy these days?  I've been waiting for the deluxe attachment set and fine cut starter kit for about 3 weeks and my retailer isn't sure whats going on with the order.  Can you provide a little insight?There is no failure...only feedback
Reply:Aaron,I am awaiting an answer from the consumable team at Hypertherm on status of the FineCut consumable kits. Normally they are shipped same day as the order was recieved. Reply:Jim, thanks for the lightning quick feedback.  I can't wait to see what difference the fine cut consumables make on the machine.  I'm not complaining, but the machine itself had to come off the shelf display from another store so that we didn't have to wait on it too.  I understand the weather plays a big part in shipping this time of year.  We are just recovering finally from 22 1/2 snow fall a few weeks ago.  thanks again for the response.AaronThere is no failure...only feedback

Reply:Aaron,I was just informed that the FineCut kits are in stock, and have been all along....we have had no noticeable delays on this product. Orders are generally shipped next day. You probably want to get after your supplier to see when they placed the order.Can you give me the part number you ordered and the name of the dealer...I can try to get it back tracked from our end.Jim Colt
Reply:We buy from Praxair in Jefferson City, MO.   Today we were told that there is a 2-3 week backorder on these kits.  I do not know the exact part number that we ordered, but I would guess or hope that it's part #850930, which would be for the pm65 handheld.There is no failure...only feedback
Reply:These kits have been in stock all year....no delays in shipments. There currently are kits in stock......this info is directly from our Torch and Consumables group at Hypertherm.Jim Colt
