What role does Amps play in the welding process?

If you are looking at 2 different machines and the specs are all the same except the "Amp Welding Range" then what is the difference between the two machines? what factor does the amperage range play in producing a weld?

Reply:All them specs are meaningless.  It's all about how much SMOKE capacity they have don't you see.
