Tig arc off of finger.

So I started high frequency today and got to experiment a little. My friend and I were both making arcs off of our fingers and I was wondering if you guys had any experience/explanation for it? It does not hurt or even make a feeling.

Reply:Many times!Amuse your friends!...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Yeah, we used to tell people that you can weld cuts on your fingers closed. Some of them even believed it.Two turn tables and a microphone.
Reply:it may be perfectly safe, but still seems like a really silly idea arcing to your self.
Reply:It's the HF, it acts as an arc starter to ionize the gas between the torch and work piece so that the welding arc can start, without it you would have to touch the electrode to the work piece and lift off to start the welding arc. It's a high voltage/ high frequency arc that is not dangerous and as long as your not grounded really well, the welding arc won't jump to you (that might hurt, a bunch)We used to play jokes with the HF, stick a piece of filler in the end of the torch and wait for someone to be crouched down near you, then discreetly put the end of the filler near their azzcrack and stomp the peddle, they'll nearly hit their heads on the ceiling, zippers are another good target, I've seen guys punch themselves in the junk
