Anybody know where I can get parts for a Duracraft saw? It is a 4X6 horizontal/vertical metal cutting bandsaw that I bought from TSC back in '89 and they don't sell that brand anymore. I need the gear that is mounted on the drive wheel. I ordered a gear from HF but it is the wrong size for my saw.
Reply:I would think TSC should be able to put you in touch with the manufacturer, even if they no longer sell the brand. That is called customer service.I offer three choices: Good, Fast, & Cheap. You may pick two.Hobart AC/DC StikMate LXHarbor Freight AD HoodHarbor Freight Industrial Chop SawDeVilbis 20 Gallon, 5 HP Compressor
Reply:The guy that I talked to at my local TSC said they don't have any information for that brand of saw but did say I could come and look at one of the ones they sell now and see if the gear in it would fit. If it is the right size I can order one of those.
Reply:Can you contact TSC's corporate office? They may be more interested in keeping you as a repeat customer, than having you leave with a bad opinion that I am sure you will share at the drop of a hat.I offer three choices: Good, Fast, & Cheap. Reply:I went and looked at the saw that they have in the store and my measurements indicated that the gear set in it should fit so I ordered them. Thanks for the phone number and if these gears don't fit I will contact them and see what I can find out.
Reply:LOOK ON EBAYI have seen those for sale
Reply:Got the gears from TSC and it was a perfect fit. I replaced the gear on the drive wheel and used the old worm as the shaft was different and the worm gear was not worn. It fit much better than the original gears. These gears were from a Buffalo brand saw if I remember right. |
