I am looking to buy a Koike Handy Auto Plus cutting torch setup.... my buddy has one ive been using and they are the slickest thing since sliced bread... What an amazing tool.Anyway I was wondering where the best place to buy one is...(best price).I also notice they make a Standard "Handy Auto" as well as the "Handy Auto Plus"... what is the difference between these two torches. I assume the "Plus" just has more features, but what?If anyone has any experiance with these please let me know... and if you haven't used one, you have GOT to try one.Thanks,Steve1946 Shorthood - 1958 Blackface - 1962 Redface - 1967 Redface - 1968 Redface - 1970 Blackface - 2005 300D - 2008 Vantage 300 -and a ton of other welding stuff
Reply:Don't know the difference between the two , but , i have the Auto plus and use it on up to 2" plate and its great. Keep the metal clean for the roller and then a little down pressure , great tool.

Reply:C6.7 - From the description on their web site it looks like the biggested differences are1 - auto ignition2 - gas mixture settings that never have to be reset after igniting and cutting off torch3 - two direction drive - the auto didnt mention this feature, not sureAlso highly recommend Kioke quick connects to be added.Just finished mounting a 5- shank ripper on a D-6 dozer over the weekend and used it to cut 18 - 1 1/8" holes for mounting. Holes worked great - lot better than having to drill all the holes. Good luck !
Reply:Even the poor-boy base model has reverse.Within the last two weeks I was foraging all of Craigslist and a Handy Auto popped up as an "also" item in a listing. Sorry, I don't recall the city or the other item, maybe it was ironworker but I was in a hurry and just moved on. I believe the asking price was $350, but I'm not sure of that either.Good Luck |
