Bronco Shifter Mount Build

This is a vehicle related project I did a while back on a Bronco a guy was rebuilding.   Some one else had attempted the job before me and it ended up being some what of an abortion.  It wasn't so much a welding fail as it was a design fail.  For one thing it didn't seal things off from the underside very well and let a lot of road noise (and water and mud spray) into the cab.   My first step was to seal off the huge hole some one else had already cut into the floor and give me something to attach thing to.Because there was hardly any way to get to things from underneath I had to make it so the shift lever mechanisms hooked up to their cables and installed from the top side.  I've got all the nuts for the bolts that hold these in place tacked on to the bottom side.   This is how it turned out.   Not perfect but a hell of a lot better than what was there.
Reply:Here's some other pictures of that Bronco.  I think it's a pretty clean look'n unit that over all the owner has done a really nice job with.   Notice the way the fender flares are pop riveted on?  That's kind of where I got the idea to use pop rivets to attach my base plate to seal off that hole in the floor from.  I figured that same look would be in keeping with an over all theme.

Reply:ZT,Thanks,  coming from you that means more than from most.   As to those wheels being hideous....it would be my guess that the owner of the vehicle thinks different.  And since he's the one with the check book that's probably all that really matters.
