Reply:Nice work Billy! In the first pic, I have never seen those on a bucket before. And I have been in a ton of quarries. I can see where they might work, if you're pushing rock a far distance. But here we use conveyors to pile, and just dig into the pile to load out. Hmmmmmm..........???And, get better pics of your trucks in those pics...........you got some awesome looking rigs!!!"Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! Reply:Used to operate a 988 in a mine years ago.Never saw anyone put those wedges on the side of the bucket before, let us know how they work out. That bucket is a special designed rock bucket and you need to repair it before the front floor and teeth break off.  If the adaptors and teeth are ok, you need to gouge them off.  Then cut the front floor plate back to where it is still good and replace it with new piece of t1/ar plate and reweld the tooth adaptors back in place or replace them if they are done. You need to repair it soon or it will break. The 988 is a good loader, would like to have one someday if I had the work for it."The reason we are here is that we are not all there"SA 200Idealarc TM 300 300MM 200MM 25130a SpoolgunPrecision Tig 375Invertec V350 ProSC-32 CS 12 Wire FeederOxweld/Purox O/AArcAirHypertherm Powermax 85LN25
Reply:It's a 988B, which is a big leap ahead of the 988.                                    MikeOl' Stonebreaker  "Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes"Hobart G-213 portableMiller 175 migMiller thunderbolt ac/dc stick Victor O/A setupMakita chop saw
Reply:I used to run a 988B for a while where I used to work. Drove my boss crazy. He couldn't understand why I could drive something a s big as the 988 as precisely as I could, yet I couldn't run the little 941 track loader to save my life.I had fun running one that summer. I wished I had picts of me running that machine. I miss it..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:No you misunderstand. Now it's a hydraulically adjustable table top. Ours would reach 19', just in case you needed to work on something out say the 2nd floor window for example. Also works well as staging in case the man lift isn't handy. Floor on our bucket was almost 6' deep on the bottom and 10 ' wide. Great for pulling 4x8 sheets of 2" foam insulation off the 2nd floor walls and putting them in the floor of the bucket for salvage..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:We called them Rock Knockers. They are supposed to push rocks out of the path of the tires to protect them from getting cut up.
Reply:What is the big leap?Curious?

Reply:Well you cant go wrong with free rod!  Your trailblazer will run 1/16" dual?  It handles it ok?The reason i ask is because I just got my trailblazer 302 set up with an old Hobart feeder. Im running .045" 71A85 also with 75/25 and it will run between 240 and 275+ amps.  I run 1/16" at work off of a Deltaweld 452 power supply and it will run anywhere from 330 to 400 amps.  I would love to run the big wire off my TB302 but I just dont think it will have the amperage to get the wire to run in the sweet spot.

Reply:Man looks like fun. That is the only thing I miss from being at the saw mills as a Millwright. The industrial welding. The winery's just dont need industrial style welding. At least not from where I am at. I try on the side to fill my need of industrial welding but not much need for it here in Nor Cal.GalenMiller TrailBlazer 302 EFIThermal Dynamics 252i w/WeldCraft WP 9F tig torch and foot controlThermal Dynamics Pak 52Millermatic 250 w/Spoolmate 30aLincoln SA-200 gas driven welder from grandfatherBlacksmith shop
