Well it finally showed up even though the large magnet was missing from the box I still am able to use the thing....Works pretty good even though the suction isn't as strong as I would have liked......They require it to be 20-40 MM from the weld. Reply:Looks interesting. I have looked into buying one of those.Do you have an idea on how many hours of stick welding the filter would last? The replacement filters seem really expensive.
Reply:That's really cool! Looks like it works well.
Reply:Not sure bro, but I know that toxic fume Poisoning will be more than a filter...Just checked and the filters are 100Bucks and you check them every coupleMonths.... If your not making 100Bucks to save your health maybe it's timeTo get into a new non welding trade?Last edited by B_C; 03-30-2014 at 01:54 PM. Reply:They may be 100 bucks there but over here they are 300 bucks for the filter and 1400 bucks for the unit. For a little more I could make a permanent installation for fumes extraction.I like the portability of the system but unless the filters last a while it is not worth it for the prices found here.

Reply:I am in Greece - Europe. Rapidwelding in the UK is one of the vendors I use.http://www.rapidwelding.com/dynamic/...aspx?c=TWX1VACThe local market has either the same or even more expensive prices.
Reply:What is it with these guys wearing gloves for everything they do?! Afraid to mess up their "man"icure? He had to take out two Phillips head screws out, pull a plastic cover off and latch a couple latches for crying out loud! Looked to me as though it made it harder to get it done than if he just did it barehanded like any normal person would. And what was he thinking at 2:05 into the video?!!! He might have broken a nail or scratched his finger turning the thing on! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=fyuQcyifcc4Hope the unit solves your headaches B_C. Reply:We have a new Lincoln vent system installed at school. It's on a much larger scale but it is nice not having to wear a respirator when welding in your booth for many hours.

Reply:B.C. - since you posted on this I started looking up fume extraction and learned some new stuff.I did not know aluminum was a neurotoxin when welded. I think this summer I better re-think my winter ventilation and do something better than cracking a vent. Thanks for posting and good luck with your new machine Dave J.Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance. ~George Bernard Shaw~ Syncro 350Invertec v250-sThermal Arc 161 and 300MM210DialarcTried being normal once, didn't take....I think it was a Tuesday.
Reply:yeah aluminum is Pretty gnarly... It takes 64 hours of hoodDown to complete 50 lifts so I need as Much circulation as I can get without Disturbing my weld gas...I'm really Likeing the Mini Flex so far. Miller Dynasty 350Twenty Six HammersThree Crow BarsBig Rock |
