Lincoln 3200hd or 140T or C

Hi, name here is Tim and I'm new to the forum. I haven't welded since high school (back in the early 80's) but want to get a small mig unit for garage hobby stuff. I about have my wife talked into giving me a welder for Christmas.Here are my questions.I can get the Home Depot Lincoln 3200HD for $460 and I can get a 10% discount on that. Or, I can buy the 140C or 140T for just shy of $600.I guess my question is if the 140C or 140T is worth the extra money for what I want?  I imagine that most of my welding will be 14 and 16 gauge square tubing. I already have a project in mind of a small trailer to pull with my motorcycle for all my camping gear.Am I right in thinking that the 3200hd is just a re-badged 135T, and a few years ago this was the Lincoln 110 volt mig of choice?I don't want to buy a 220 volt machine just because I don't want to spend the money and don't really think I need it.I appreciate the opinions of all the experts out there.Thanks, Tim
Reply:Unless you are doing sheetmetal thickness only, you -will- be wishing for the 240V welder with more muscle than just about any 120V welder can give you.That said, the 3200 or the new 140 are fine machines within their limits.  They are pretty good on sheetmetal thickness.The advantage to the new 140 is the option for the low-cost spool gun (for aluminum).Read through here for past postings about this question and the 3200.  The info is all over this site (and others).
