Newbie question: what would be the indicators that gun & cable components might need replacing? I've recently purchased a used SP-125 Plus and IIRC the gun is a Magnum 100L. How would I tell if the nozzle, gas diffuser and/or cable liner would need replacing before I get started? Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. Reply:Thanks for responding, weldgault. No, I just bought the unit and am a total newbie to welding. I haven't even plugged the thing in yet - I'm concentrating on educating myself & making sure my poop's all in a group first before I stoked it up. I did, however, have the fellow I bought it from demonstrate to me that it works before I bought it. To my entirely untrained eye it seemed to work OK - made sparks & ran a bead.My question is more from a preventative-maintenance-before-I-get-started point of view. Just curious what I'd need to look for to assess if anything needs to be replaced before I get going. Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. Reply:Plug it in and start learning already...when you do have problems bring them back here with the symptoms and someone will figure it out for you. You're not going to learn anything worrying about what MIGHT happen...now go have some fun !!Anything worth doing is worth doing RIGHT
