lincoln generator welder

A guy heard someone ask me about a welder and he said he had one to sell.He said it was a lincoln generator arc welder and I thought he said 2cyl 16hp.Supposedly it is ac-dc capable and cc cv and all that.I am not that familiar with those.He used it for stick a time or two.I don't know the engine brand in it,he thought it put out about 7000 watts.Has 220 outlets and 110 outlets.I found 5500 and 10000 on lincoln site but nothing close.The 5500 models are only 9hp and the others are bigger.I am sure it is a few years old.He said it was in great shape.I was trying to find out what it would be similar too.He said he wanted about 1000 for it.pro-level dumpster diver                                     Hobart 125EZ
Reply:In years past they had 16 hp engines instead of the current 20/23 hp engines.  I don't remember the wattage of the generators but they were somewhat less than the current models. They welded ok.
Reply:Lincoln G7 weldmanpower.  I have one.  Great machine, still use it occasionally.  I bought the ONAN powered one, but same thing.The predecessor to the ranger 8.DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:I had a Weldenpower 225 that was DC only, it welded great. It had AC for power like my SA-250.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."

Reply:Good machine; once the engine goes, you're hit.Really cherry, and you need one now; a thousand is okay.Plenty around for 300.00 to 700.00 lately. Show the seller a few e-bay results.You and envelopes2007 aren't chasing the same one are you?Good Luck
Reply:Can't seem to sell mine for $900 on a trailer.I purchased mine in 1987.  I think the date is in the serial #.DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
