I aquired a sa-200 for the price of "come and get it" it was born in 54 or 55,sat outside for many years, hood off, rad off ,no air cleaner ,exaust pipe rusted out/gone threads and all , found all the parts except air cleaner laying around machine.hooked up battery to starter ,bumped engine over, it turned over freely.checked fuel system(line,sed.bowl,valve,etc.)plugged solid.cleaned everything including the carb, made gaskets for the carb, cleaned out the intake manifold(filled with some kind of mud cacoon/nest).Reassembled,put in fresh fuel, spun it ,nothing.Opened up mag.,blew out ,checked point gap .015,looked brand new inside, checked for spark (LOTS!!!!),pulled plugs (little dirty/rust)checked compression, cyls 1,2&4,no comp.(s$##&%$^#t) put about 3to4 oz. of ATF/diesel mixture in each cyl. let set for a week, pulled plugs spun motor over put plugs back ,hit the starter ,she fired up(on one cyl only, ran kinda rough)pulled plugs back out looked in the holes ,saw the valves stuck open in 3 of the cylinders.I tapped the valves with a brass punch and plastic hammer ,rotated engine over ,again .did this several times until the valves worked freely.Put plugs back in ,hit starter button ,didn`t spin over more than a dozen times, fired up all cyls. runs like new,no smoke and starts super easy .I haven`t tried to weld yet still trying to get gov/kickdown linkages hooked up. and I need to have rad. re-cored . PS. GOT TO LOVE THOSE OLD ENGINESLast edited by GONWHLN; 01-10-2008 at 04:26 PM.1979 LINCOLN SA-200 (FOR SALE)1954 LINCOLN SA-200MILLERMATIC 200LINCOLN 250 TIGLONGEVITY 60 IPREMIER POWER WELDER ON 4X4BRONCOVICTOR WRENCH
