Square Bar Stock Joints

Thank you for the add. I would like to build an animal hauler like the one on the picture below and have a couple questions about the types of joints I need to use to get the best strength given the type of material I am using. Reply:Weld it the same way as tube- weld the joints, where the metal comes in contact. Reply:You might find the beginning of this thread of interest. I didn't even bother with bar in the corners of mine. The only thing I really bought was the heavy wire mats ( I wouldn't have even had to buy those if someone hadn't swiped the heavy mats I'd saved for the project that were leftovers... Grrr.)Cage holds 2-3 40-60 lb hogs each year when we go pick them up for 4H. Reply:Technically speaking, I think if you are asking for the most weld strength, then the more linear weld you have, the stronger.70,000psi yield strength on a 45 degree beveled angle joint would lay down more linear weld area than a 90 degree butt joint. I am no engineer. Do you need it 45???
