Hi guys I'm looking for some input/opinions on picking out Lincoln Flux-Core wire. I was recently was given my dad's 130EN Clarke 110V flux-core mig welder, I have not done a whole lot of mig welding with flux-core before now, I'm more of a stick and tig guy, and not sure what would be the best choice. I will mainly be using it for small hobby fabrication projects, up to larger farm machinery repairs, in all positions. Sooo pretty much a good universal wire, and recommendations??
Reply:.030 or .035 NR2ll which is an E71T-11 filler metal which is recommeeded for upto 5/16" thick structural steel and runs on DCEN or "straight polarity". Lincoln and ESab also make some proprietary FCAW which are all position also and may be available in smaller diameters and a bit more user friendly. Not disparaging Hobart and others but, I am just not familiar.
Reply:I've never run anything smaller than .045. I really like Hobart's 21-B!http://www.hobartbrothers.com/produc...d%26reg%3B+21B Attached ImagesDont pay any attention to meIm just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400
Reply:Innershield 211 would be what I would use with your machine. I have done a lot of welding with .030 and .035 flux core wires and Lincoln's Innershield is above all the others it has an easy to read puddle and the slag comes off so easy.Lincoln pro core 125 14''chop saw7 inch grinder,2-4.5 inch grinders, electric die grinder.Half inch drillAnd alot of hand tools
Reply:What the guys above me have said is pretty much all that needs to be said.I advise .030 0r .035.Innershield 211.Best flux core for home and hobbie use I my opinion.
Reply:I have tried Lincoln flux core wire also Hobart. The best flux core wire made is Esab We have three dairys where only esab wire is used. I have been using esab since 1995.
Reply:The cool thing about Lincoln flux core wire is Lowes and Home Depot sell them so if you run out on a weekend you can usually find some.Lincoln pro core 125 14''chop saw7 inch grinder,2-4.5 inch grinders, electric die grinder.Half inch drillAnd alot of hand tools
