Reply:Meco and Victor
Reply:I'm sorry, I was in a hurry to post them. They're both Victor. I was wondering what model, and maybe if you think they're worth rebuilding/selling???"Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! Reply:Email the photos to http://www.regulatortorchrepair.com/ they'll give you prices on the rebuild. I rebuilt a victor acetylene reg that came thrown in with a couple cylinders I bought. Got a functionally brand new $230 reg for $53 rebuild. It's the best reg I own, I'm really glad I had it rebuilt. Victors are popular for a reason, yours are probably worth rebuilding.
Reply:Have you tried them?  Thew may be fine as is unless you want them pretty. Dan.Manipulator Of Metal
Reply:Stick-manThey are 'extra heavy duty' two-stage regs.  They are for cylinder or manifold use 'requiring precise and constant outlet pressure.'My Victor literature only goes back to '86.  But as late as '74 Victor wasstill using brass/bronze bezel rings on their gages.  Your numbers don't match any catalog scheme, they are probably a unit serial #.The gage faces look '60 to '70-ish.  The regs obvious have some miles on them, but appear in very good condition.  In my experience the gages tell the tale of how regs have been treated.  Your gages are original and appear to be undamaged in any way.  The lead seal is another good indicator, and is the first two-stage reg I haveseen with a lead seal intact.  The paint even looks OEM and points to old.Take them for a test burn and report.  If you have them rebuilt, ask thebuild-shop not to make them pretty - just work.  They look great just the way they are.Opus
Reply:If they were Smiths the rebuild would be free(or they'd be replaced). I like Victor too but the bahhhhhwd of Diwkktahhhhz needs to be sacrificed to a volcano.Bubble gumTooth pixDuct tapeBlack glueGBMF hammerScrew gun --bad battery (see above)
Reply:I would mount them on a wall and display them like in a museum, right next to dinosaurs.  Or you could make them into a light fixture or something for a man-cave.  But using them and trusting them?  Heck no.  Go buy new with a warranty.  When it comes to gas regulators, peace of mind and safety are everything to me. Reply:I say rebuild them if they need it and use them. These are probably the best regulators that Victor ever made. I have a set that needs a rebuild and yes i do plan on using them. If you do get them redone make sure the don't change the gauges to the new style. The glass face ones are worth some bucks.
